SP&H & Sponsors Raise Thousands for “Project Cuddle”

Meet Marcus. Marcus is a
healthy baby boy who is loved and cared for by an adoptive family in Orange
County. Marcus is alive and well solely because of an organization called
‘Project Cuddle,’ whose purpose is to, “stop the plight of discarded babies by
aiding the pregnant girl or woman find a safe and legal way to save her unwanted
baby and give her hope for a brighter future.”
Marcus’ mother lived under the
Bristol Street underpass off the 405 Freeway in Southern California until the
day he was born. His mother, with no desire to have a baby, sought out
assistance from Project Cuddle’s 24-hour crisis hotline.
Debbe Magnusen, founder of the
organization, immediately began steps to counsel this young girl and prevent her
from abandoning her child. Through Project Cuddle’s efforts, Marcus was born, a
couple was turned into a family, and another life was saved.
Project Cuddle has saved over
500 babies from being abandoned or discarded since its creation 10 years ago.
In July of 1996, the 24-hour crisis hotline was unveiled to the public, and now
receives calls from frightened girls and women throughout the United States and
Canada. Project Cuddle takes no stance on abortion and is solely in existence
to help each girl or woman make a safe decision for both her life and the life
of the unborn baby.
